True to form, the current popularity and growth of driverless vehicles has long been a focus for Continental, with the German owned company recently celebrating 50 years of tyre tests with driverless vehicles. The company proudly demonstrated its first foray into the modern day technology at the world class Contidrom in Germany, a tyre test facility which since 1967 has tested over 1.3million tyres.
Incredibly the first electronically controlled driverless cars debuted to a frenzy of
media interested on the 11 th September, 1968, with over 400 newspapers,
magazines, radio stations and television channels reporting on the event.

Half a century later, the Germany Engineered Tyre brand continues to push the limits, with technological innovation at the heart of the brand.
